Sarah Person has been an Assisant Principal at Bessemer City Middle since 2021. She joined the Bessemer City School District in 2000 as a first grade classroom teacher at Charles F. Hard Elementary. During her time here at our District, she has also served as a Reading Facilitator, Homebound Teacher K-12 and Bessemer City High School Cheer Coach. Mrs. Person holds an Ed.S.in Teacher Leadership from the University of Montevallo - and a second Ed. S. in elementary education from the University of West Alabama, MA in elementary education from the University of West Alabama. She earned her BS in elementary education from Miles College.

Dear Bessemer City Families, Welcome back for the 2023-2024 school year! I am ecstatic to be a part of the Bessemer City Middle community. I look forward to collaborating with the staff, teachers, families and the community to ensure that all students reach their maximum potential. At Bessemer City Middle, a primary goal is to establish a strong culture of learning by creating a school environment that is welcoming, safe, engaging and nurturing to all students. By working together, I am confident that we will continue to make Bessemer City Middle School an exemplary place for all students to learn and grow.
